Code of Conduct for Business Partners

The following letter was sent to all our business partners, selling products through Teal Goal Limited to BAUHAUS Germany. This letter introduces our new Code of Conduct for Business Partners, which applies to every order starting today.

Dear business partners,

The retail chain stores in Germany and Europe have an essential role in promoting labour rights, decent working conditions and environmental protection in global supply chains. In Germany, the supply chain law applicable for companies with more than 3,000 employees will be in effect from January 01, 2023. It is also projected that an even stricter Europe-wide supply chain law will be implemented in 2024.

The supply chain law requires companies to strive for better implementation of internationally recognised labour, social and environmental standards, principles and commitments in their global supply chains. Substantial national action plans are in the making within the G20 countries to adopt the German supply chain law in line with the UN Guiding Principles.

BAUHAUS and Teal Goal recognise the joint responsibility of businesses to foster sustainable supply chains and encourage best practices to promote safe and sustainable supply chains globally. The Code of Conduct for Business Partners is Teal Goal’s corporate and social initiative to strongly support the UN Guiding Principles. We expect from our business partners to adopt them in their operation as well as in their own supply chain.

All our business partners must acknowledge and agree that the production of products and the sustainable development of their operation and supply chain comply with the Teal Goal Code of Conduct for business partners.

You will find enclosed our Code of Conduct for Business Partners, valid with immediate effect. This code applies to all business partners and contains all the requirements we received from our customer BAUHAUS.
