The following letter was sent to all our business partners of Teal Goal Limited. For any clarifications, please get in touch with us by emailing (compliance@tealgoal.ltd) or contacting us online.
Dear business partner
Retail chain stores in Europe have an essential role in promoting labour rights, decent working conditions and environmental protection in global supply chains. In Germany, the supply chain law applicable for companies with more than 3,000 employees will be effective from January 01, 2023. It is also projected that the European Union will implement an even stricter Europe-wide supply chain law in 2024.
BAUHAUS and Teal Goal recognise the joint responsibility of businesses to promote sustainable and safe supply chains globally. Today I am writing to you due to the new minimum requirements for suppliers defined by BAUHAUS. These requirements apply worldwide.
Furthermore, Teal Goal is setting up a new Sustainability Team. In the coming months, our colleagues will focus on the timely implementation of the new requirements.
I expect your active participation to achieve these goals together. Our Sustainability Team will review each supplier in the coming months, and if more information is needed, we will reach out to you. However, I already ask you to assess the following minimum requirements.
- All our business partners must acknowledge and agree that the production of products and the sustainable development of their operation and supply chain comply with the Teal Goal Code of Conduct for business partners. The newest version you can find on www.tealgoal.ltd.
- Starting January 2023 all new business partners/producers need to have a valid audit before the 1st order is placed. We do accept the following audits.
- AMFORI/BSCI
- SA 8000
- Sedex
- Starting 2023 all existing business partners/producers with no valid audit need to conduct AMFORI/BSCI self-assessment. By the end of 2023 all existing business partners/producers must have valid audit (AMFORI/BSCI, SA 8000 or Sedex).
In the future, Teal Goal will prioritise partnerships that demonstrate these shared values and visions of a sustainable future and continuously work to achieve the goals set.
If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can reply to our email (compliance@tealgoal.ltd) or give us feedback on our website (https://www.tealgoal.ltd/about-us/contact-us/).
