amfori is a leading corporate initiative to improve sustainability in global supply chains. BAUHAUS is involved as an amfori member in several modules. In particular, the amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) forms a core component of the implementation of BAUHAUS legal Due Diligence along the supply chains, including mandatory requirements for business partners which are outlined in this document.
- Affected Business Partners
All Teal-Goal business partners are subject to the following policy in its latest version regardless of the mandating BAUHAUS entity. The supply chain risk team at Teal Goal consists of Beatrice Walter, managing all steps described in this policy concerning these business partners. Teal-Goal business partners are all suppliers from Asian countries, except Turkey.
Questions can be directed to compliance@tealgoal.ltd or amfori@bauhaus.info.
- Onboarding and preparation of quotations & orders (BSCI, BEPI, QMI)
Any affected business partner must present an amfori ID as well as an audit report which fulfils the requirements defined in chapter 3 of this document (Audit Requirements and Evaluation) for all their relevant production sites before a quotation is submitted to Teal Goal / BAUHAUS and before an order is being placed by Teal Goal / BAUHAUS.
In case of lack of amfori ID, the supply chain risk teams can help in doing the registration (contact compliance@tealgoal.ltd or amfori@bauhaus.info). The affected business partners must ensure, that requirements for conducting audits at their relevant production sites are fulfilled in time. This must be considered, when business partners switch production to other sites.
- Audit Requirements and Evaluation
Before submitting a quotation to Teal Goal / BAUHAUS and placing an order, the submitted amfori ID must be checked by supply chain risk teams and audits reports must be:
- issued by one of the following alternative audit schemes:
a) Amfori BSCI or
b) SA 8000 (only once; first quotation, order and will end with respective expiration date) or
c) WiN=WiN Fairstone (only for natural stones, must be registered onto amfori platform to retrieve amfori ID)
- and covering full cycle from quotation submission to Teal Goal / BAUHAUS to order placement until shipment (if report is to expire, subsequent audit booking must be presented)
- and compliant. This requirement will be assessed by supply chain risk teams.
a) Overall score C, must provide a CAP (corrective action plan)
b) Overall score D, not compliant and must conduct a follow-up audit with result of overall score C or better
c) Overall score E or Zero Tolerance, not compliant and should not be considered as a potential business partner until follow-up audit with result of overall score C or better
d) SA8000 pass, with implementation plan or audit report
e) Win=Win pass, with audit report
All audit results of business partners are checked and stored on BAUHAUS/Teal-Goal databases. The consequences are:
- CAP: Corrective Action Plan (short: CAP) for all findings (= negative discrepancies), which are described in respective audit report; must entail measures and impact and be developed by business partner as soon as possible, after auditing date. The business partners and their relevant production sites must be cooperative in CAP-process and show continuous improvements.
- Follow-Up Audit: covers subset of questions and should occur within 2-3 months, latest 12-months, from previous BSCI audit. Production sites are expected to schedule it as early as possible, once enough findings were solved to allow quotation submission to Teal Goal / BAUHAUS and order placement. If 12-month-deadline is missed, full audit is mandatory. These full audits cover all 13 performance areas and take place at least every two years, regardless of any follow-up audits in between.
- Solving of “Severe Findings”: refers to specific findings described in the respective audit report, which are considered as particularly severe by the BAUHAUS group according to the “Group Policy on Severe Findings”.
- Quotation & Order Stop: refers to internal communication and intervention in procurement processes, can result in following actions depending on case-by-case-decisions of supply chain risk teams and procurement.
a) Stop of new quotation submission and order placement
b) Stop of submitted quotations and placed orders
c) Stop of shipment of produced orders
- Support by Teal Goal: can consist of recommendations and support in and of improvement tools, registration on amfori platform etc.
- BEPI RA (risk assessment) Requirements
The Business Environmental Performance Initiative (short: BEPI) of amfori will be integrated step by step into the supply chain Due Diligence and the sustainability strategy of BAUHAUS. Starting of 2026 all relevant production sites of the affected business partners are requested by Teal Goal to do a BEPI risk assessment (short: BEPI RA). This Self-Assessment-Questionnaire (short: SAQ) covers environmental topics. Currently, the disregard of this request and result, do not affect business relationship and the possibility to submit quotations to Teal Goal / BAUHAUS and place orders, but prospectively it will.
